The ‘Asset Value Date’ is the start date of depreciation for the asset. The ‘planned depreciation’ is calculated by the system based on this depreciation start date and the selected ‘depreciation term’ for that asset. Be careful with the posting date and asset value date. Both dates need to be in the same fiscal year

Asset capitalization date:
The system enters the asset value date of the first posting
that results in the capitalization of the asset in this field.

Use:
The capitalization date is the value date of an asset. You
can also enter this date manually when creating an asset.
However, this does not lead to the asset being capitalized,
but only to this date being the default for the asset value
date when the first acquisition is posted.

dear sap user, you might be a wrong. because the asset capitalization date is 01.03.2008. while the asset is going to transfer to new co.code or new asset on 07.02.2011, it will consider as asset transfer date or posting date.

But the Asset value date should be first capitalization date. because the depreciation will calculate as basted on the capitalization date.

Need help to answer my below question.

If the start date is indicate wrongly after 1st math run depreciation.

Can I transfer to new asset and indicate the correct the start date?

For example purchase date is 01.05.23
Start date is on 01.07.23

I transfer over to new asset but asset value dare should be what date?

I will tel u with an example.
Company has purchased a asset on 01.03.2008 and the asset
has gone to production on same day. Today the company is
going to sell the particular asset that is 07.02.2011, for
that company will valuate the asset as on today.

Now, 01.03.2008 is asset capitalization date
07.02.2011 is asset value date

Hi friends, I getting an error while i am creating document number range it shows the error message " the number range intervals are not included in automatic recording of customising changes transport of all the changes made within number range interval maintenance must triggered manually. In the initial screen for number range interval maintenance choose the function internal->transport. thanks
