why synchronization done in clockwise direction?

Answer / shonali
there is no CW and CCW synchronization it depends on the
speed difference
synchronization is connecting our generator to grid by
matching with the grid frequency.
a synchroscope is used if our generator speed is less than
grid speed (frequency) the synchroscope rotates counter
clock wise (lag).
if our speed is high the scope needle rotates CW (lead)
if it is equal the needle stops

To ensure the incoming generator takes up load as soon as
the generator circuit breaker is closed.
If synchronism was achieved with the synchroscope
indicating an anti-clockwise rotation the generator would
not take up load and instead would driven by the bus, ie.
reverse powered. If the reverse power is large enough
tripping of the generator is likely to occur.
When manually synchronising a generator to the bus it is
normal to give a quick 'increase' command on the controls
just after the breaker closes to ensure positive power
loading takes place.

I think this is due to the phase sequence, because we use
the sine wave in electrical generation so the sine wave
produced is according to quadrants(In which sine wave is
plotted CLOCKWISE ).

In my point of view; in modern turbo-generators there is
already provision of about 5% automatic load command as
soon as gen. breaker is closed thus leaving no chances of
gen. tripping on reverse power. Hence, it will not make any
difference technically whether syncronization is done in
cloclwise or anticloclwise direction.

I hope that answer 2 and 4 are v.good.Normally
synchronisation done at 1/10 frequency of incoming
generator kept higher thans the exisisting source.why.yes
when it is synchronised as generator take load its speed
decreases due to low frequency it will trip so its
frequency is kept 1/10 times more than source

Synchronization should be done in CW direction , to avoid reverse power trip , because CW means your alternator speed and voltage is slight greater then grid ,after immediate synchronizing load will delivered to grid , other wise there is change of reverse power trip.

There are five conditions that must be met before the
synchronization process takes place. The source (generator
or sub-network) must have equal
line voltage, frequency, phase sequence, phase angle, and
waveform to that of the system to which it is being
synchronized.

Clockwise mode of operation is a standard. It has been set to
ensure that phase sequence is not reversed while
synchronizing the generators. Otherwise, same thing might
happen as explained in Answer #7.

synchronisation is done in CW direction coz generator should have voltage slightly more than tha system .. because at tha time of synch system start taking load from generator instantly. to avoid generator speed lower than the rated one this needs to do.

It doesn't matter if you synchronise TG with Grid in cw or anti cw . Just after synchronisation increase the power as soon as possible.
