HOW DOES THE FAN REGULATOR CONTROLS ITS SPEED
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
In electrical regulator by using resistance the output
voltage is varied simultateneouly the speed is varied...
But to reduce the the energy loses in the resistor,
electronic regulator is introdueced, which uses triac to
vary the output voltage by varing the firing angle.Which
avoids lose of energy in resistor...

Conventional fan regulator works by the principleof
auto-transformer.
now in modern regulators we using triac to control i.e,by
varying the firing angle, output voltage is varied then
automatically speed can be varied

Fan regulator working based on the principle of power control using a Triac. The circuit works by varying the firing angle of the Triac . Resistors and capacitor are associated with this. The firing angle can be varied by varying the value of any of these components. Here register is selected as the variable element . By varying the value of register the firing angle of Triac changes (in simple words, how much time should Triac conduct) changes. This directly varies the load power, since load is driven by Triac. The firing pulses are given to the gate of Triac using Diac.

Electronic fan regulator is an electronic device consisting
of diacs, triacs, potentiometric resistance to provide
stepless control of fan speed. This is an energy saving
device and has advantages over the conventional type of fan
regulators having more energy losses.
These regulators can also be used as a speed regulator for
many other small F.H.P. motors used in mixer, laboratory
solution mixer etc.with appropriate current ratings.
