I think this is due to the phase sequence, because we use
the sine wave in electrical generation so the sine wave
produced is according to quadrants(In which sine wave is
plotted CLOCKWISE ).

Practical condition in 400KV Sub station:- Breaker(open) , isolator(open), Earthing (close) at both end e.g A & B.
