SAP Kernel for any operating system consists of 2 sets of
programs. 1 Set contains DB-independent programs and 2 Set
containts DB-dependent programs. For example, programs like
R3trans, tp, saprouter are DB-independent. Programs like
brtools, R3load are DB-dependent.

SAP kernel is available in two flavors UNICODE AND NON UNICODE
KERNEL and we have to upgrade our kernrl to latest version
when applying SUPPORT PACKAGES, ADD ONS etc. Transport system
and database connectivity are depends on TP and R3trans so we
have to upgrade out kernel when applying support packages ,
add on's...
