HOMOGENEOUS SYSTEM COPY IS BETWEEN SAME OS AND SAME DB.
WHETHER VERSION IS NOT SAME CONSIDERED HOMOGENEOUS SYSTEM
COPY.I.e. EX. ORACLE 8.1.2 TO ORACLE9.2.1,OR WIN 2000 T
WIN2003 ETC.
BUT HETEROGENEOUS(MIGRATION) IS NOT LIKE THAT.. ITS
STRICTLY BETWEEN TWO DIFFERENT DB OR OS, LIKE MS-SQL TO
ORACLE. OR WINDOWS 2003 TO UNIX LIKE THAT...

A system copy without change in the databse type and OS is
called a homogenious system copy
A system copy with a change in the database type and the OS
is called a heterogenious system copy

System copy can be homogeneous or heterogeneous. Homogeneous is between same OS and DB.

Homogeneous system copy is defined as client copy within
the same Network or Client Copy of a Local Machine and
Heterogeneous Client Copy is defined as Copying a remote
machine which is at different location.
