occurred what preventive methods should be taken?

Basically Three types of load are there..
1.Resistive load
2.Inductive load
3.Capacitive load
Resistive load always having unity power
factor. So we do not consider that type of loads.
In Inductive load Having Lagging power
factor,so we must improve the power factor. For this
improvement we can choose capacitor,Synchronous Motor
connected in parallel. These Loads give the Leading
current ,so it is compensate the lagging current...

Answer / nilesh agrawal
lagging means the current is lag the voltage and leading
means the current is lead the voltage, when the circuit is
inductive ,current lag behind the applied voltage.when the
circuit is capcitive the current is leading the voltage.
to improve power factor a capacitor is connected in
parralel with the ckt.

lagging and leading are gererally refered as current over
the voltages. if we say its lagging then it is the current
must be behind the voltage and on the other hand in
leading ,current must be ahead voltage. in power system we
use lagging power factor in operation but its above .85.

Lagging means current is lagging with respect to voltage by
some angle and in case of leading current leads voltage by
some angle.
in case of resistive load: current and voltage are in phase
ie angle between current and voltage is zero.
in case of inductive load:- current lag behind with respect
to voltage by some angle.
In case of capacitive load:- current lead voltage by some angle
Only remember CIVIL :- That means in case of capacitor(c)
current(I) leads with respect to voltage. similarly in case
of inductive (L)load we start from right side: current (I)
lag by some angle w.r.t to voltage.

it is a power facotr. Lagging means currents lags behind
the applied voltage by some angle and leading means current
leads the applied voltage by some angle. to improve the
power factor we should use a capacitor bank in parallel
with inductive load.

lagging and leading is the relation of current and voltage.
lagging means current achieve its peak value after the
voltage and leading means current achieve is peak value
before the voltage. this leading and lagging is expressed with
respect to time or angle.for example suppose that at time 't'
the value of current is 'i' then in case of lagging at same
time value of voltage will be 'vm'.

Answer / rahul
All right...
but keep in mind that the concept of lag or lead is valid
only when BOTH V and I waves are sinusoidal.
THEn lag__ I lags V
lead__I leads V
