Given a system power factor of 0.9, PFC unit of 50kvar we can work out the following
50/0.9 = 56 A real current
56^2 * 50^2 = 75 A apparent current
Cable capacity - 75 * 1.35 = 100 A
Factor of 1.35 used for over rated capacitors as per
industry standards.
Breaker shall be rated at less than the cable capacity but greater than 75A. Increase cable size to suit breaker breaker sizing if required.

Amps Per KVAR is between 1.1 to 1.3 Amps
for a 300KVAR panel
the current shall be 130 AMPs(and if the capacitors are
auto swithced , then switching surges need to be considered
hence) * 1.5 Times = 585Amps
The nearest breaker size is 630AMPS
It is preferable to use Capcitor duty contactor for
switching

What should be current in the Primary and secondary side of 1000KVA (11KV Supply)Transformer.?
I am designing new project sub station with 220 kV / 11 kV, 40 MVA capacity. This project have many recifier sets, which can generate 3rd harmonics. Now I have to select vector group of This transformer. To minimise 3rd harmonics, what care should I take in selection of Transformer Vecrtor group? If it is Y-Y with open Delta tertiary then what should be the rating & voltage of Tertiary Winding?
1. which type of transformer connection is preferred in case of power supply transformers? (A) Star/Star (B) Delta/Delta (C) Star/Delta (D) Zig Zag/Star 2. In a power transformer usuall which winding is closer to the core? (A) Primary winding (B) Secondary winding (C) Low Voltage winding (D) High Voltage winding 3. The power factor of a purely inductive load is (A) Zero (B) Lagging (C) Leading (D) Unity.

one KVAR takes how much amps, and how to add power capacitors to electrical panels, for example if one of the MCC drawn 800amps means how much KVAR required
