Process order is generally used in process industries like
cement,oil,etc.(where the production is continuous) whereas
production order is used in descrete manufacturing
scenarious.Both are work orders but will have different set
ups for BOM,routing,etc.

process and production orders have their own significance.

In Process order we have Recipe calculation, where certain
formula are used for manufacturing the materials in process
industries .

For Ex material like Oil, Chemicals, Petroleum Products
have there own chemical formula's and mixing proportions
which can be handled well and good using with certain
chemical equations, Further Process sheet and recipe are
used in PI for this purpose.


Meanwhile both PP, PI are same in Configuration step except
certain things like Order type, Recipe Calculation, Resource
Formula.

Sum of Process order t codes are different from PP t codes

can be generated where you can get information about the
range of values to be measured while processing the
material.This facility is not available with production
order.

Process order refers to process industries, but you have to
think in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage
industries instead of cement, oil,..

The construction of data in thes part is very similar to
discrete processes ( COR1 istead COR2, C201 isntead
CS01,.. )

The key differences are :

Process modules had bigger controls to block master data,
Strict control of Goods issue and goods receipt,
....
