General Note:
Please understand the question first. And give straight answer to the question. This is what an interviewer expects
Specific:
The question is : What is the power factor you maintain at ur organization?
Give the Power Factor that is maintained in your company. Generally it is 0.95 and above lagging. Power Factor maintenance depends on the State Electricity board rules

Hey sorry people if i offend you
but here at my place PF is to be maintained above 0.6
but some of you say that penalty is served if PF is below
0.9???
Is it true?
Please reply?
Generally it not possible to maintain PF nearly equal to
unity!!!
0.7-0.9 is fine i guess

i am maintain the power factor .85 to .9 in generation
plant.
power factor is ratio between the kva & kw ( active power &
reactive power) but basically in three typesof load is
there resistance load for lighting load that load is
maintain .95 to 1, inductive load based on induction
motor, incandesent lamp, welding transformer that load is
maintain .8 to .85 then over all power factor is
maintin .85 to .9 with additional load condition is
maintain apfc ( automatic power factor correction)capacitor
bank

Answer / thiruvalarselvan
Power factor is ratio of real power to apparant power. In
industries maitain the powerfactor is important one.But not
maintain the powerfactor in unity, Loads varied form time
to time.In industries induction motors and tubelights
mostly used. This are inductive loads, this loads create
lagging powerfactor. So to improve the powerfactor by using
static capacitors, syncronous condensor and phase advanser.
so maintain the pf not below 0.96 lagging to avoid the
penalty in TNEB.
