Difference b/w BP Role and Partner Function?..

BP Role is a setting in the Business Partner master data.
Partner Functions viz; Activity partner, Sold- to party,
Ship- to party etc are are used in the different CRM Orders
like Activities, Tasks, Opportunities.
Business Partner Role is not involved into the Partner
Determination process or Business Transactions. Again, only
Partner Functions and Relationships are used instead

but you will come across partner functions in partner determination procedure,it means it describes the people with whom you do business

In CRM there is no link between the terms partner function and partner role. A partner function determines the corporate function for another business partner, a partner role determines the view in the partner master.

BP role determines what access the BP has in the Web UI. Example- sales pro, service pro, marketing pro, IC agent, IC manager

Partner function is the functionality that BP has been trusted with in business transactions. Example: sold to party, Bill to party, Competitor, Vendor, Dealer etc

A partner function is used to assign business partners to a business partner that is maintained for individual partner functions in individual sales areas.
