document splitting is a difference between g/l a/c and new g/l a/c.
new g/l functionality:
1) parellel accounting
2)segment reporting
3)real time fico functionality
4)customer defined fields

In NEw G/L We can configure 2-3 new things which are not possible in classic G/L

1) Parallel accounting(Leading & Non Leading Ledger for main company & subsidiary diff country specific company)
2) Document splitting( Bifurcate the Tax cost with Diff department etc..)
3) FI&CO reconciliation Automatically
4) Segmentation reporting(Make a report in respect of various segment)

document splitting means when u post invoice are payment,expenses it may splitting to segment wise are profit center wise.
1) Document split
a) Active split
b) Passive split
c) Zero balance split
2) Leading and non leading ledger
leading means single company code can maintain single chart of accounts single currency
non leading ledger main multiple currency's, not for chart of account level
3) No need to run fi& co Reconciliation (T-code:Kalc)
4)Segmentation reporting

HI ,

normally in 4.7 EE editon we are creating gl accounts .we
can post at the GL account wise in the 6,0 here we can
split the amounts as per the accounts and involved inthe
item catagery.

Hi! I need to change the fiscal year variant from V9 (Oct-Sept) to K4 (Jan - Dec). I understand creating a short period for fiscal year variant K4 this could be solved, but the problem is that my Controlling Area, assigned to several company codes (which should keep V9 fiscal year) variant, has fiscal year variant V9 as well. I wonder if is there any way to have a company code with fiscal year K4 and assign it to a Controlling Area with different fiscal year variant, is there any alternative fiscal year variant? Or what do you suggest? Thanks!
