AVR is automatic voltage regulator which is nothing but
stabilizer.
in AVR their is motor which is connected to the auto
transformer with buck and boost transformer, as the voltage
changes the sensing microprocessor based card will sense
and compare with the set value and give command to the
buck/boost transformer and motor rotate and set the
required voltage.

voltage regulator main purpose is to keep system output
voltage constant as much as possible under the load
changes. through controlling excitation current that is
injected to field coils.

AVR, automotive voltage regulator, important principle AVR,
exciter, when rectifies rotate induce voltage in excitation
motion. AVR, support the control system in three main ways
1.sence volts that moving to the main armature.
2. Supply current to exciter field in the in the generator.
3. AVR, will continue to function until generator maximum
output.

AVR is automatic voltage regulator.as the name shows it
regulate the output voltage of regulator. in fact it is a
card that sense the output voltage of a generator and a
signal is giving to an exciter (an exciter is an dc or ac
generator)and thus the excitation is giving to the rotor of
generator.hence it maintains the output voltage of generator
thereby it prevents the overload.

AVR is used for regulating the voltage for synchronous motor
or generator. To change the field excitation of the rotor.By
this the motor or generator can be maintained at unity power
factor by over exciting & under exciting whenever needed.

What is the difference between Contactor and Circuit breaker ?
what are the disadvantages of low power factor
I am new guy as an electrical engr. in a 100MW HFO based power project. I am in operations division. I have noticed from last few days, my supervisor sends the last 24 hours energy generation calculation to my plant manager. I have noticed, he calculated last 24 hour's generated energy differences in KWH then he multiplied it with a multiplying factor 960. for example: total difference =2.685 KWH*960= 2577.6 MWH. but he does not not know what is multiplying factor 960?? can anybody explain it??
