The role of a SD consultant (here I mean IT BA) in testing
phase is to create unit test plans by working with
Functional support team or the business team. He may also
work with them to create Integrating test scripts as well,
but the integrating testing will normally be done by the
Functional Support team and the ITBA will be intimated
about any issues via ZLOG or something like that. Examples
could be testing of critical and heavy duty transactions,
reports etc.

In addition to what vikram said . I wOUL EMPHASISE that the
sap tester has avital rols to bplayed in both ASAP
meathodology and PRE prodution level as before going in
for golive the project istested at 2 levels

Level 1 is that of Unit testing where the complete process
isrn sucesffull for each individualmodule
level 2 hee we have integration testing where weintegrate
the modules with each other module foreg ; Integration
odsd with MM; PP; FI

Hi,As an SAP-SD Functional consultant in ASAP Methodology (ie,Project Preparation, Business Blueprint, Realization, Final Preparation and Go Live Support)at the time of Realization Phase and Some Part at the time Final Preparation we will do Testing like Unit Testing,Integration Testing and Regression Testing.
a)Yes, based on your experience in your Project you have to play the role in Developing Test Plan.Their are some stages in Test Plan where SD Consultant can play his role like in deciding Feature to be tested and Features not to be tested and what are all type of testing to be done etc..
b)Test Strategy will be decided by Project Manager, still it varies from company to company process.
