yes you can configure the STMS in a single system.

prerequisite are

1. make the system as a Domain Controller were you are
going to configure STMS.
2. Create 2 Virtual System and name it. eg:- Server1 &
Server2.
3. Assign the Transport Routes.
4. Create 3 system landscape.

follow these steps you wont get errors

Yes you can configure the STMS in single system
1.log on to server
2.go to stms tcode and the popup will display the domain
controller.Save the domain controller.
3.Create the virtual system
4.in stms go to system overview and select the 3 tier
landscape save the appropriate configuration.
5.save activate the current configuration.

Mostly the problem is exsting configuration problems. so
Delete the existing TMS through STMS->Extras->Delete TMS
Configuration. Then delete files from usr/sap/ trans/bin
and cofile and data after that logon to 000 client and
reconfigure TMS through STMS after create virtual systems.

Hi,
To Configure STMS you require atleast 2 systems which can
communicate with each other once you are done with RFC then
you can configure STMS and RFC is possible only if there
are 2 systems in Network if you have installed "MicroSoft
Loop Back Adapter" then also you require network connection
for Communication and generally "tp" error occurs when
Transmission Protocol does not exist.So STMS is not
possible on Single System.
