as of i know (iam not sure just try for this ok)
goto usr\sap\sid\sys\exe\run from there sapstartsrv.exe
run this one u will get one window there fill the
information (sid, instance no, profile:give startup profile
user:hostname\sidadm pass word:pass word of sid adm).
just try for this.

As of i know ( Just Try) Kondal is right, and other option
is there, first chek these instance ( Dialog ;
background ..)through BRTOOLS and try to connect database.

If tese are working ok, then first start your sap through
usr\sap\sid\sys\exe\run from there sapstartsrv.exe file
path..
After that go to MMC and try to add SAP tree.

I tried to start the server as kondal said but it says
"reinstallation will help to fix the problem"

Some times in this you need to install the centrall
instance otherwise you can go
open the SAPMMC console--->View-->and select the Add/Remove
Programe-->SAP Instance and then Give SAP SID,Instace
Number...
finaly save the settings and restart the console or Server

Hey I think U need to start the services first. Whenever
the services related to SAp are stopped on the server which
contains the SAP application normally the MMC does not show
any systems. U start the services and then u will be able
to see the systems under MMC to start

In sm51 screen what are the possibilities for status field? If the status is active then we can double click on the instance name to goto it's work process over view screen(sm50). but if the application server is down,will it still be displayed in the sm51 screen with status shutdown?if so,what happens if we double click on an instance name with status shutdown>will it still goto sm50 screen?what would be the workprocess status then?
