I want to know the req quantity of cement for plastering 300
sft in final coat with 12 mm. Any math involved? Plz help

Answer / mukul chand
300 sft = 300*0.0924=27.72 sqm
Therefor wet vol. of mortar = 27.72 * 0.012 = 0.33264 cum
Increased by 20% for filling the depression etc.
= 0.33264 + 1/5 0.33264 = 0.4 cum (wet)
= 0.4 + 1/3 0.4 = 0.533 cum (dry)
Summation of proportion = 6+1 = 7 (1:6)
Therefor cement require = 0.533/7 = 0.761 cum.
Or 0.761 * 1440 = 109.71 kg.

Answer / sateesh patil kris cooper pmc
Your Area is=27.87 Sqmt
Thickness is=0.012m
Total=27.87X0.012=0.33 Cum
25% of Dry Mix=25/100X0.33=0.0825 Cum
30% of Wet mix is=30/100X0.33=0.099 Cum
Total=0.33+0.0825+0.099=0.5115 Cum
If your Mix proption is 1:4 then you do
0.5115/(1+4)=0.1023
1 Part of cement is 0.1023X1=0.1023 Cum/0.035 Cum=2.92 Bags
Sand is 0.1023X4=0.4092 Cum=14.43 Cft

Answer / indhumathi
cement required=96.192
it depends on the mix ratio.i give the quantity for c.m 1:5
area to be plastered=27.87sq.m(300 sq ft)
thickness of coat=12mm
volume of mortar required=27.87*.012=.334m3
sand required for .334m3=.0334m3
cement required=(weight of cement in 1m3/mix ratio)*total
volume
=(1440/5)*.334=96.192kg

Answer / sachin sharma
Total Volume =(300/10.76)*.012=0.334cum
Increase 55% for dryness factor and unevenness
=1.55 * .334
=0.52CUM
Consider mix 1:6
Cement Content=(0.52/7)*28.8
=2.14 Bags

Answer / rafeek shehu ibrahim
Mixing ratio 1:5 12mm thickness
Add 25% for Unevenness volume of wet mortar
Add 30% for Dry mix Volume
so, 55% is to be added
=300/10.76*0.012
=0.334m3 wet mortar need for 300ft2/27.88m2(12mm thick)
so,Dry volume=0.334+0.334*55%
=0.517m3
red Cement=(volume of Dry material/summation of proportion)
----------------------------------------------
Volume of 1bag Cement
=(0.517/6)
--------
0.035(volume of 1 Bag of cement)
Answer =2.46Bags

ans- you told 300sqft and 12mm th. Ratio is 1:6
convert 300 sqft = 27.77 sqm
= .012x 27.77= .333cum
= .333+1/5x .333 = .399 this is done for 20%
increase in volume mortar for joints depression and wastage
= .399+1/3 x .399 = .532 cum this done when mortar
increase 1/3ed volume when dry.
Than calculating cement = .532/7 = .076 cum = 2.1 bags
where as 1 bag= .0347 cum
7 is the summation of 1:6 ratio
sand - .076 x 6 = .456 cum

Answer / er.puspk kumar sahu
area of plastering=300sq.ft=300/10.76=27.88sq.mt
thickness of plaster=12mm=0.012m
ratio of mortar=(1:6)summation of ratio=7
total volume of cement plastering=(27.88x0.012)cum
=0.334cum
0.334+55%=0.517cum(extra 55% for dry material )
cement=0.517/7=0.073cum
0.073/0.035=2.08bags(1 cum cement volume perbag=0.035cum)
sand=0.517/6=0.086cum=3.07

Volume of Wet Mortar = 12 mm X 300 cc.ft.
= 12/1000 X 300/10.76
= 0.335 cu.m.
Add 20% for depressions, joints and wastage:
= 0.067+0.335
= 0.402 cu.m.
Volume of Dry Mortar = 1.3 X 0.402
= 0.523 cu.m. = 18.45 cu.ft.

Answer / k pramod
wet mixed mortar for uniform layer =1.2cu. m
adding 30% to fill up joints,uneven surfaces,etc.,the
quantity becomes to 1.2+.36=1.56.
increasing by 25% the total dry volume =1.95cu m== 2.00cum
For, 1:6 cement sand ratio =2/(1+6)=.3
sand =.30*6=1.8cu m ,say =2.0cu m...
no of cement bags requiered are=9

Answer / muhammad farid
If ratio of plaster is 1:5 & thickness is 12mm
Dry material is 300/10.76x0.012=0.334cm
Wet material for plaster 1.30x0.334=0.434cm
Cement req. 0.434/6x35.31=2.55 cft or 102.16kg or
2.04Bags of 50kg
