There are mainly three types of sub-stations.
1.step up/down substations-where stepping up or stepping
down of voltage has done.
2.power factor improvement sub station-where power factor
is improved by installing capacitor banks or synchronous
condensors.
3.switching sub stations- Where switching action like
switching on or off has done for maintenance purposes for
other reasons.

differentiate between one way two gang switch & two way one gang switch, used in designing the loads of building.
i am using auto transformer for starting of induction motor to provide reduse voltages...but the principle of a tansformer according to definition"which transform energy to on circuit to another circuit with constant power and constant frequency". so if i am using reduse voltage then current obsely hige because power is same.but we use auto transfarmer for starting of induction motor to give low current.but here according to definition we are giving hige current.
