Hello,
instance is nothing but workproces,, there are three
types of instances. Dialog,central and start instances.
Operational modes are nothing but scheduling time to
particular workproces. mean give certail time to run their
process.

To get the optimum use of available system resource like
work process. we could create operation mode by using RZ04
t-code. There first need to create operation mode like
active and batch than create instance. Add and subtract
work process to the instance depends upon requirements.
Than use sm63 for assign time to the operation mode.
Operation mode will change automatic without restart the
server.
