partly payments are the payments that can be posted to an
account without open items being cleared.orginal open items
(credit invoice amount)and partly payment remains in open
item category.

but where as
residual item are the payments that can be posted to an
account with open items being cleared.new open item is the
result of difference betweem orginal open item and partly
payment

Residual Payment: An example: If the amount is for Rs 100 to be paid but paid Rs 75 then then at the time of clearing the line items it will be get cleared and on more line item for Rs 25 remains open.

Partial Payment: An example: if the same amount of Rs 100 needs to be paid a but the payment is done for Rs 75 then after making a payment of Rs 25 we can clear the total line items.

Partial payment:if you are appling the payment through
partial payment, system will keep the original invoice as a
open item and show the paid amount as a second line against

when we use partial payment ,we can see invoice line item and partial payment line item ,in contrast residual payment ,in the line items ,it will show only due amount only(it will not show residual payment line item).

If payment is made for less than the required amount, it is
part payment and balance left after this payment is due as
residual payment. Say if payable amounts is Rs.100/- and
Rs.75 is paid, then Rs. 75 is part payment and Balance Rs.
25 is residual payment due.

Hi all can anybody help me...i am getting the following error when i am creating the GL ac for Vendor Recon ac,(only balance in local currency is selected) ...."Balances for reconciliation accounts only in local currency not defined" Message No fh061, however when i deselect the 'only balance in local currency' system is allowing me to save. should we not select 'only balance in local currency for recon accounts?'...help me please.
