Answer / pradyumna
1-In an alternator, electricity is produced when a magnetic
field spins inside the stator (windings of wire). In a
generator, on the other hand, the armature or windings of
wire spin inside a fixed magnetic field to generate
electricity.
2-Alternators are considered more efficient than
generators. Alternators conserve energy by using only the
energy that is needed, while generators use all the energy
that is produced. Alternators have a higher output than
generators.

what causes contact chatter when there is no demand on the air conditioning unit?
One of our gas turbine generator unit "1st stage rotor ground fault" alarm was occured several times. we tried to measure some voltage vulue ground fault protection relay (UNS3020a made by ABB and we measured the value of: Ground: 0.9VDC 5V: 5.8VDC 24V: 23VDC u+: 300 – 350mVAC Rf1: 17.5mVAC Rf2: 17.6mVAC The unit still running and the alarm was reset. As of 6pm yesterday and unitl now no alarm happened again. I our protection relay was defective?
why ac supply neutral should earth not in dc (-)
plzzzzzzzzz plzz send me the papers of JSPL WRITTEN TEST..SO that i can prepare for the test in electrical engg..
IN MY INDUSTRIES 125 HP MOTOR USED FOR THAT ONLOAD AMPS UP TO 280 SO CAN I USE ONE LOWER KVA DG SET WITH STEP UP TRANSFORMERS THAT MEANS WITH LOW POWER INPUT TO GET CONSTANT HIGH POWER OUTPUT EG:125KVA DG SET = 250 KVA STEP UP TRANSFORMERS
What power factor maintain you maintain at u r organisation
what is a composite error in current transformers, why occurs & in which it will occur i.e, either metering ct/ protection ct
while conducting an experiment why we connect the armature rheostat in maximum position and field rheostat in minimum position
Three set (each phase contain 2 cable of 400 mmsq CU XLPE AWA) of single core cables are connected to 11 KV motor of 14 MW & the switch gear supplay is taken from 11kv feeder & this supplay taken from 275 KV substation. Problem is one pair cable(L3- 2 cable ) getting very hot & gland melted and damaged in switch gear side. the other two cable haven't any more hot(ambient temp only & L3 haveing 95- 100 Degree C. The same problem happened in 275 KV substation switch gear side also where the supply taken for 11 kv switch gear. But here L2 phese cable had problem. Why it is happening like this?. The cable having temperature different at different location from gland side inthe case of 11KV feeder of 275 kv substation. why ?
