Hi,

Saposcol is a collector and stands for SAP Operating System
Collector.To check whether if saposcol is running one check
through TCode "SMX" ,One can start saposcol through the
below path :

c:/USR/SAP/SID/SYS/EXE> Type saposcol -d and can start the
SAPOSCOL on system file or on particular file.

Once saposcol is started it starts collecting information
for Operating System.

we can also start saposcol like this also,
go to cmd-services .msc u can see the services there u can
chech wether saposcol started or not if not start
please let me know if i am wrong

Hi,

To Troubleshoot SAPOSCOL Service is started or not one
should make use of T Code "SMX" where one can see schedule
jobs and can cancel SAPOSCOL and can restart SAPOSCOL by
following path

DriveName C or D:\>CD USR\SAP\SID\SYS\EXE\Run and Enter and
type saposcol -d to start service .SAPOSCOL service will
start collecting information on Operating System.

Hi ,

SAPOSCOL stands for SAP Operating System Collector and if
it is not started the command to see whether SAPOSCOL is
running or not One should make use of TCode "SMX" which
will give a brief description of Background jobs and
OSCollector running instance.One can even cancel jobs
through "SMX" Tcode.

We can check the os collector through below command in unix/Linux os

ps -ef | grep saposcol

and it can be started through below command from kernel

cd /sapmnt/<SID>/exe
saposcol -d
