In water by KF test we can determine only water content
wher as in LOD test we can determine % of volatile
Solvents and water in drug substance based on nature of
melting range. If melting range is LESS than 105°c then
LOD COUNTS AS % of volatile Solvents only.

Answer / falguni
In LOD We can measure loss of Volatile solvent (depend on
their boiling point)and also loss of adsorbed water (upto
some extent). In karl fischer we can find total content of
water, whether it is adsorbed or absorbed.
