In SAP ABAP, you can convert non-char (numeric or date) fields to char type fields using the CONV function. For example:nDATA lv_char TYPE char4.
CONV var1 INT INTO lv_char SPACE AFTER 2 STARTING AT 1.
Here, var1 is the numeric value and lv_char will hold the converted character string.
