what is reactive power (MVAR) and how it is control? how it
is generate in powerplant?
Answer / k.prakashchandra
The reactive power on generator can be controlled only if
it is connected to grid/network.If you make the terminal
voltage higher than of grid ,gen will draw inductive power
(lagging pf) and the vice versa.Usually generators are run
at 0.92 to 0.98 lagging pf for system stability.
