Governor is used to control the rpm of the steam turbine by throttling the inlet steam.
Woodword governors are most widely used in industry
it senses the rpm n drive a hydraulic pump which is inbuilt in governor and develope the oil pressure such that the generated oil pressure will control the steam valve
now days electronic governors are there which gives mA output and through I to H or I to P you can convert it to pressure and control the steam inlet valves.
