What is the rating of HT SUBSTATION and LT SUBSTATION?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
HT (High Tension) substation means if substation is
suppluing power to another substation is called HT
substation.(220/132 KV)
LT (low tension)substation means if substation is supplying
power to domestic and industrial usage is called LT SS. It
rating for domestic (132/11/440/0.240 KV) for industrial
(132/66/33) KV.

Firstly the HT Means High Transform,LT Means Lot Transform
in our country the regular pattern of ss distribution is
440KV DC Input from generation places then at 440KV DC is
then converted in AC afterwords AC is stepen down to 220KV
to supply the 132KV SS, the 132SS Stepen downs it in
66KV,33KV and 11KV. as in specific manner not a substation
is LT it is always HT because all the substations are
working on KV's i.e.220/132/(66/33)/11 supplies. in case of
the industrial supply the bill of consumption is always
issued as HT Customers with consmption of HT KWh units rate
hence not a substation is LT. as in final the 11KV line is
transmitted to each LT Transformerwhich has three inputs
and four Outputs that are the actual LT's. if you properly
observe the HT Lines 220/132/(66/33)/11KV's are only of
three inputs and not the neutral with them and in the SS
the transfomers that are used for StepDown process are also
of three input and three output and no presence of neutral
their, and uses the DELTA to DELTA transformation with
varying no. of turns on PRIMARY & SECONDARY with On Load
tap Changer for voltage controll. hence in rough the HT
lines not uses the neutral and the ss too hence not a
single SS is LT all are HT in nature and main is that, when
11kv is stepen down at pole transformer which is DELTA-STAR
in nature takes input as 11KV three phase R Y B ar DELTA
and gives R Y B N i.e. three phase with NEUTRAL(N) are the
LT. LT has 440VAC between Phase to Phase and 250VAC in
Phase to Neutral. thats the LT line. all the substations
are HT coz they supplies Voltages in KV's i.e.1000's of
voltage between Phase to Phase. and not the 440VAC between
Phase to Phase and 250VAC in Phase to Neutral. hence all
substations are HT and not LT in nature. but lines that
carries the voltage only.

HT (High Tension) substation means if substation is
suppluing power to another substation is called HT
substation.(800/400/220kv,220/132 KV,132/66kv)
LT (low tension)substation means if substation is supplying
power to domestic and industrial usage is called LT SS. It
rating for domestic (66/11/440/0.240 KV) for industrial
(132/66/33) KV.

It varies somewhat. Here in Arizona we draw the line (he
he) between 69 KV for low tension and 230 KV for high
tension. We have very little in the 115 KV range. In
neighboring states, especially California, they have a much
greater range and draw the line differently. Close enough
for general use: HT is above 100 KV; LT is below 100 KV.
There is also a rating for EHV (extremely high voltage)
subs; for us it is 345 and 500 KV but not 230. I'm guessing
OSHA has the last word :)
