OSS notes a ".car" file.

To work with a CAR File do the following at OS Level:

Get into OS as <sapsid>adm

Copy the .CAR file to a Temporary Directory.

Uncompress the file with SAPCAR

Copy the the data file generated in the data transport
directory
( ej: = /usr/Sap/trans/data).

Copy the the cofile file generated in the cofiles
transport directory
( = ej: /usr/Sap/trans/cofiles).

Run transaction STMS

Upload the support package with SPAM transaction and the
support package will show "New support packages".

Users are complaining that the SAP system shows a hour glass for a long time at the time of logon and they aren't able to log on to the system and users logged on are complaining of long delays going from t-code to t-code. a backroungd job is running...it should have finished in 30min but it is runing for long one day...if you check the process in sm50 it is running and if you check the pid in task manager it is running....it is not hanged and job log does not have error...what will you do to troubleshoot it and how will you convince the particular job owner for killing and rescheduling ?
