What is meant by Active and reactive power?..

Answer / naresh

Description

The Active & Reactive Power block measures the active power P and reactive power Q associated with a periodic voltage-current pair that can contain harmonics. P and Q are calculated by averaging the V I product with a running average window over one cycle of the fundamental frequency, so that the powers are evaluated at fundamental frequency.

What is meant by Active and reactive power?..

Answer / teja

active power: the actual power delivered to the load .
root over 3 v(line)*i(line)*cos (phi).
reactive pwer: the power which is not useful to the
load...it is the power used to compensate the losses that
occured in the machine...

What is meant by Active and reactive power?..

Answer / s.ramakanth reddy

Power factor is defined as the ratio of real power to
apparent power. This definition is often mathematically
represented as kW/kVA, where the numerator is the active
(real) power and the denominator is the (active+ reactive)
or apparent power. Though the definition is very simple, the
concept of reactive power is vague or confusing even to many
of those who are technically knowledgeable.

What is meant by Active and reactive power?..

Answer / navneet jangir

active power is the cos of angle between current(i)& voltage(v)
reactive power is the sin of angle between current(i)& voltage(v)

What is meant by Active and reactive power?..

Answer / nimish

The power is which is actually utilised in the circuit is
known as active power and Reactive power is the loss
occures in the system due to its inertia.

What is meant by Active and reactive power?..

Answer / saleem uddin

Reactive power is nothing but which is delivered by the
inductive load and does not do any usefulwork

Active power is the one which really useful in th system

What is meant by Active and reactive power?..

Answer / t.gnanavel

active power is the real power for which we pay the power
bill which is not changing due to the power factor
maintained.where as the active or apparent power is the
product of the system voltage and the current without taking
power factor in account.but the value of the apparent power
is fully depends on power factor.
