the potential transformer is used for meetering purpose ,it
is a instrumental transformer it receives a high input but
sends a 110v only for meetering and relay purpose.but incase
of transformer it works step up/down

where we can calculate total summation of charges in the line that is called potential transformer. actually potential which is measured in the open path only as same phenomena of emf(v/m).In the nature potential transformer are not possible to exist.because all measurement taking in the closed loop only.when it's closed loop we measure difference of charge (voltage).
where we measure difference(ex.5v) of positive charge (+5v)one side and negative charge(-5v) on other side can be called as voltage.this phenomena only suitable for all voltage transformer.

We need higher precision in the case of Potential
transformer as it is used for measurement. But in the case
of Voltage transformer precession is not the key feature

P.T are extremely accurate, ratio step down transformer and
are used standard low voltage rating volt meters(100-250)
V.T are used to step-up and step-down the voltage

THIS IS TYPICAL QUETION... WELL.. VOLTAGE transformer Compare the primary and
secondary voltage ratio of a transformer and to maintain
fixed voltage at secondary terminal, it sense to auto tap
changer of the transformer to maintain fixed voltage during
no load to full load.
Potential transformer is used for measuring heigh voltage.
It's Primery windings is connected to the high voltage
source & secondary voltage is only 110 volts

hi,i just wanna to asking here too, if our factory using
existing supply 22KV/110V and we want to upgrade their
supply to 33kv,is there neccesary to change our VT/PT/CT?
Thank you

CT secondary side should be closed whereas in PT may be open
or closed.
CT should connected in series with the line and PT should
connected across the lines.
