both methods belongs to BDC . Interface means transfering
data between two systems. CONVERSION one time data transfer.

We can say BDC is Conversion and BAPI is an Interface.
BAPI we can interactive with other systems apart from that
we can upload and download data.
where as BDC is no chance of interaction. It simple uploads
and downloads the data from flatfile to DB or Vice-versa.

Interface- Data transfer between two existing systems(SAP<->SAP, SAP<-->non-SAP). This is done when both the systems will exist in future. BAPI is interface.

Conversion- One-time data load from legacy system to SAP system. This is done when the legacy system wont exist in future. BDC is conversion.
