Variant config is for manufacturing complex products in which customer determines the features of the product. Objective of variant configuration is to react quickly to customers’ requirements.

Variant configuration used basically in the following cases:
1-when the product range is very complex.
2-Material planning are done as per Make To Order.
3-Material must be batch managed.
5-During creation of sales order the sales guy put all the material specifications by using characteristics.
6-The values entered against characteristics in Sales Order are considered during material planning @ sub floor level.
7-At sub floor level the production person has a clear idea about the customer requirement , hence better customer satisfaction.
8-Main advantages in case of VC is no need to maintain a huge list of material codes as per material specification.

my scenario is repetitive manufacturing (REM) make-to-stock (MTS)production for sugar industry. What are the things, I have to customize for this scenario, to the PP point of view..
