Period not open for a/c type S :- Guys, I have not been able
to fix this out. Please guide what procedure to be followed.
error: ''''Period 001/2011 is not open for account type S
and G/L 799999''''. I''ve checked OB52 screen but not very
sure what amendments to be done.

in ob52 please check weather accounting type 's' is maintained periods or not. please maintain from period to period according to your fiscal year. don't enter from to account names.
OR
in ob52 enter accounting key '+' means valid for all accounting periods. enter from period and to period according to your fiscal year.

In OB52 put the account type "S" and open the period for the year and also open period for " + " to open period for all account type. Hopefully get solve.
