Answer / syed jalal
coz in series connection current is same so wen multimeter
is connected in series it shows the same amount of current
that is flowing through the circuit and is the case with
parallel connection for voltage measurement.

Answer / d.k. maury
Because digital multimeter connected in series measure dc current [in case dc current constant] but in parallel dc voltage constant ,so digital multimeter connected in parallel for dc voltage measure .

In a D.C. circuit where there is a constant current flow, the digital multimeter is connected in series with circuit because the same current flows throughout the circuit from the positive side of the battery to the negative side and through the battery back to the positive side and so on.
The digital multimeter is connected in parallel to measure D.C. voltage because in parallel, although current varies / splits at parallel nodes, voltage remains constant.
Simply put in series connection, current remains constant and voltage divides. In parallel connection, voltage remains constant and current divides.
