What is difference between A.C & D.C Resistance ?..

Answer / dileep t

The A.C resistance is always greater than D.C resistance.
A.C resistance is about 1.62 times D.C resistance. In D.C
the frequency is zero . Hence the total impedance of a line
will be only resistive.
z=R+XL
since f=0;XL=0
Z=R.
But in A.C f is not equal to zero. Hence Z will be large as
compared with D.C

What is difference between A.C & D.C Resistance ?..

Answer / suresh

d.c resistance is only resistance due to the virtue of
conductor property only, a.c resistance is due to both
virtue of conductor property and skin effect.
