in single phase find the inuctive reactance of the circuit and connect the capacitor as per as inductive reactanc = capacitive reactance suposs inductive r=100 ohms, resistance

=200 ohm
1 1 1
pf=z/r z2=r2+(xc-xl)2

1/z2=1/(200)2+1/(100-100)2

1/z2=1/40000+0

z2=40000

z=200 ohms

pf=z/r =200/200=1unity

so the cap reac=100 ohm the find the capacitor to improved this circuits pf

xc=1000000/2*3.14*f*c

100=1000000/6.28*50hz*c

c=1000000/314*100

c=1000000/31400

c= 31.84 uf
