light?

Bulbs [devices] for AC are designed to operate such that it
offers high impedance to AC supply. Normally they have low
resistance. When DC supply is applied, due to low
resistance, the current through lamp would be so high that
it may damage the bulb element.

if we give to the tube light that is FL lamp it will not
glow since since there is no ballast function...
if it is an 220 V incandescent lamp it will glow normally

Answer / prateek sharma
The bulb will glow just fine but in case of an Tubelight ,
it will light up initially, but due to loss of inductive
action towards the DC an excess current will flow in the
low resistance path f the tube so formed and will draw
excess current resulting in whatever it will lead to.

Answer / amir wagdarikar
As in tubelight there is a inductor so the property of
inductor is to oppose dc and pass only ac bcause this reason
the tubelight wont light

if u give a 220v dc to a bulb whose rating suppose to that
of 220v ac, i think the bulb wont glow unless a higher dc
source which as a higher voltage value more than 220v ac.
