Inductive Reactance=WL=2PIFL=0,since f=0 for DC.So inductor
will act as short circuit for DC Supply.

capacitor act as open.
Because
XC=1/2.PI.F.C=1/0=infinite.

The above answer is correct. Series inductance is used in
rectifiers to get smoother DC output.It is for reducing the
ripples.
