how to check the earth resistance value& what is the minimum earth resistance for good earthin..

Answer / tauseef tarique, engineer(e)

The earth resistance value can be checked by the use of
earth resistance tester (called megger earth tester). The
best earth resistance should be less than one ohm but the
permissible value is less than 5 ohm. For rocky areas it
should be less than 8 ohms.

how to check the earth resistance value& what is the minimum earth resistance for good earthin..

Answer / praveen kumar jain

As such there is no any standard of earth resistance value,
Its varies on different type of soil resistivity. Idley it
should be 0, but in different kinds of soil for electrical
equipment it should be better to below 10 Ohms and for
electronic equipment it should be better to below 5 ohms.

we using the DMM in check the L - N , N- E ,E- L
this small calc
L-N - 230 v
N-E - BELLOW THE 2 VOLTS IS GOOD ERATH CONN
E-L - 230v IS RECONFORM TO GOOD EARTH OR NOT
L-N = E-L

We say that if voltage in a power system is increased, for a constant power the current will decrease (by P=VI). isn't this in disagreement with the ohms law(I propotional V;resistant const.).Since the resistance of transmission lines remains constant, shouldn't inc in voltage cause inc in current across the transmission line? I have read many articles across the net but still couldn't this figure this out. :( Guyz plz assist me with dis..:)..
