Answer / kalpesh
the earth resistance can be checked by using earth tester
04 spike method.
as far as minimum earth resistance value is concern, it
depends on teh type of gazet connected to this earth pit.
however the resistance should be as low s possible

earth resistance of individual earth pit should be less
than 5ohms and when it is connected with grid should be
less than 1 ohms

There is not one standard ground resistance
threshold that is recognized by all agencies.
However, the NFPA and IEEE have recommended
a ground resistance value of 5.0 ohms
or less

Earth Resistance test to be conducted on summer conditions to achieve the correct value by using an earth resistance tester (From Megger/ Sanwa/ Fluke). The value should be less than 1 Ohm for electrical earth pits and less than 10 Ohm for Lightning protection System. Procedure for testing should be as per the equipment.

The earth resistance value can be checked by the use of
earth resistance tester (called megger earth tester). The
best earth resistance should be less than one ohm & ideally resistance is Zero ohm but the
permissible value is less than 5 ohm

Answer / chanchal tiwari
the earth resistance should be less than 1 ohm. if we using
digital earth resistor, then one common method used as
three terminal type and the distance between these three
terminal should be 20 to 30 meters.

Switch on the multimeter, and using the dial on the front, select the resistance function. The multimeter will have two probes with metallic pointed ends. Place the probes on either side of the earth wire. The display on the multimeter should show a low resistance of approximately 0.5 Ohms. If the resistance is significantly higher than this, the wire is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Answer / malik
by using mager we can find the value of earth resistance.
there are three types of resistance
1}low resistance
2)medium resistance
3)high resistance
earth resistance comes in LOW RESISTANCE it should be blow
then 1ohm.
