Answer / umesh
line to line means voltage between two phases like r-y, y-
b, b-r and it is about 239
and phase voltage means your voltage between R and neutral
it is 230v

phase to phase volt mean that
R and Y
Y and B
B and R
line voltage mean that
R - Na
Y - Na
B - Na

Answer / krishna reddy
The voltage B/w ant line R Or Y Or B is called line voltage
and the voltage B/W any line to nutral is called phase voltage.
line voltage is equal to root3(1.731)*phase voltage
for example phase voltage is 240v so the line to line voltage is 398.31.

Phase to Phase voltage is also called line to line voltage.
line voltage or phase to phase voltage=sqrt3 *phase voltage
While phase voltage is phase to neutral voltage.

There is NO SUCH THING as a 'phase-to-phase' voltage. The three 'hot' conductors are called LINES, not phases. For a delta connection, the phase voltage is a line-to-line voltage. For a star connection, the phase voltage is a line-to-neutral voltage.

Answer / mayambela
there is no phase to phase in star connection
only you find Phase to Phase in delta connection because line voltage equal to phase voltage
DELTA CONNECTION
VRY IS PHASE TO PHASE OR LINE TO LINE voltage (only in delta)
VYB S PHASE TO PHASE OR LINE TO LINE voltage(only in delta)
VBR IS PHASE TO PHASE OR LINE TO LINE voltage (only in delta)
STAR CONNECTION
Vrn is phase voltage
Vyn is phase voltage
Vbn is phase voltage
VRY is line to line voltage
VYB is line to line voltage
VBR is line to line voltage

If R,Y,B are called as the 'supply line'.Then the potential difference between any two line is known as'line to line voltage'
The voltage across a single winding or phase is called as 'phase to phase voltage'.
Then the line to line voltage is always higher than phase to phase voltage.

wye connection
phase to phase voltage 240v
line to line voltge 415
Is This Answer Correct ? | 0 Yes | 1 No |
Line voltage and phase voltage depend upon connection, if the system is in star connection the line voltage and phase voltage will be equal while in delta connection the line voltage is 1.732 times of phase voltage.
