Billing document is generated by the system and the output
of the billing document is the invoice which is sent to the
customer.

some times billing and invoice is same like (cash order)

Billing document is a generic term for all the billing
documents like Proforma Invoice (F5), Invoice (F2) ,
Intercompany billing invoice (IV) etc.

Invoice is a document that is used to bill a customer.
Order related billing (F1)
Delivery related billing (F2).
