HRC stand for high rupturing capacity, use for
1)very hight overcurrent protection normally on top of
motor overload protection devices, act as standby triping,
remmember this : UPS use for back up power failure, triping
aslo must need back up else primaty protection fails leads
to fire and properties damaged
2)high short circuit current with high KA rating compared
with MCCB
3)no moving mechanism once hit fusing current fast acting
to cut of the high fault current flow.. to prevent damage
to the equipment

Practical condition in 400KV Sub station:- Breaker(open) , isolator(open), Earthing (close) at both end e.g A & B. Now Open A Stn Earthing than Open B stn Earthing (Which have a 50MVA reactor) , AND suddenly show R,Y,B phase 704KV,573KV,118KV respectively. Que is without closing of breaker how it is possible.????
