For weather condition protection we will use various thing for indoor machines there is no need but for outdoor ie:-
for transformer we use LA
For motor & Generator we use Canopy
In summer time we use cooling arrangement for substation for CT & PT units.

Why the transmission lines are in 11kV, 22kV, 33kv, and why not 10kV,20kV, 30kV?
