Master Role:Maintained All the Transaction codes and
related authorization objects.
Derived Role: Only Organization level values are maintained
in derived role
the only difference remains in the organization level area

Master role refers to parent role. Which is having full access. Org level with * (Full a access) .
Example - company code *, plant *, Division *, Purchasing Group *. We cannot assign Master role to Users.
Derived role refers to Child role. Which is having access to particular location.
Same job function at different geographical locations. we can use derived role concept. Derived role can be assigned to users.
