i want to give answer of this que. by an Example:
**if connected load of our system( factory,
Works, plant ...Etc) is 1250KW(1.25MW)...it means our maxi
demand at PF 0.83 is 1506KVA (1.506MVA)
one transformer used for this load with rating PF 0.8,
11kv/0.415, 1500kva
***it means MD in KW is 1200KW
MD in Kva is 1500KVA (1.5MVA)
it means this x-mer is not suitable for this load because
efficiency of x-mer is maxi. at half load. for above
example, this x-mer is suitable for 600KW-850KW at
PF=0.83)
Here
** is the MD of Company
***is the MD of X-mer

Maximum Demand (kVA) is your peak demand of electricity from the grid. ... Your energy distribution company charges you for the maximum demand, so it costs you money. Maximum demand (MD) is the peak level of electricity demand recorded by TNB meter during a 30-minute interval in a month. The amount charged to a user is based on the recorded MD in kilowatt (kW) multiplied by the respective MD rate.
Company MD is sanctioned MD which you have to maintain to avoid penalty from Electricity Board

The recorded maxdemand is the maximum demand of transformer
Is This Answer Correct ? | 0 Yes | 1 No |
Answer / will
Maximum demand means that it shall not cross the 100%
rating of the transformer, if the transformer has no
colling stages and can take extra demand.
Normally the cooling stages increase the transformer
capacity to take load 33% more at eact cooling stage.
Ist cooling stage FA-1.33%
2nd cooling stage FA-1.66%
That means when the transformer getting loaded more than
100% capacity the ist cooling stage gets automatically on
and when it gets more than 133% loaded the second cooling
stage gets automatically on.

Consider that 500kva transformer in your company,
and you use only 250 kva load maximum. you must calculate
the increase of your load for the future five years.
That means, expecting 275 kva load in feuture, you will get
upto 300 kvaon maximum demand.
Simply get 25% extra from the maximum load.
