Work center is a part of navigation bar and navigation bar is part of UI frame work.

Work center is nothing but some group of logical links .
Group of logical links create work center link group and work center create create work center.

Then these work center are assigned navigation bar profile and nav bar belongs to a particular business role.

so basically work center is a place in UI frame work via which we can navigate to work pages as required by business .

In NavigationBar we have 3 options to assign logical links,
this lls are to open t-code page or webpage in webui.
3 options are:work centre,work centre link group,direct link
group
we can also assign wclg to wc
