how many kg sand is requried for plastring in 100 sqft?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
area 100sft=9.29 sqm
normaly thickness of plastering=12mm(in special condition it may vary)
Qty of wet mortar= 0.112cum
for dry mortar + frog joint add= 40%
so total dry mortar qty=0.1568cum
plastering usually =1:4
and if any ratio also sand qty=dry mortar qty
sand=0.1568 cum
sand bulk density= 1500kg/cum
so sand qty is 1500x0.1568=235.2kg

If the ratio is 1:3
First find the volume of mortar.
If we take thickness as 12mm = 0.012mt
For 100 Sq. Feet = 9.29 m2
Mortar volume = 9.29*0.012
= 0.1115 m3
Increase Volume of mortar by 60% ( this volume includes filling joints, depression, voids and dry volume of material)
So increased volume = 0.1115*1.6
= 0.178m3
Cement in bags = (0.178*1/4)/0.0347
= 1.28 bags
Sand in kg = (0.178*3/4)*1840
= 0.1335*1840
= 245.64 kg
(Bulk density of river sand =1840kg/m3)
