Relation in between KWH & KVAH for Electrical consumption
unit & how we can relate if KWH is lower than KVAH
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / rajasekhar
KWH is energy consumed for useful work.
KVAH is the apparent energy from source.
if kwh is lower than kvah then it might be a lagging load or leading load.... but not resistive.

kvah is the combination of both kwh & kvarh...so kvah is
always greater than kwh.

kwh is the actul power which we have used, and kvah is losses counsumption if no load your kvah increese.so always maintain kwh and kvah.for pf and cumulative pf

Kwh=Kvah * P.F., when p.f. decreases Kwh Means units
increases.
foe e.g 100 kvah @ p.f. 0.8 then Kwh is 125, so we have to
pay for 125 units.If p.f. is 0.99 then for 101 kwh.

kVA is apparent power
kW is real power
The relationship between the two is known as the power factor. This applies to AC circuits.
kVAh and kWh are energy measurements over time. (I believe your kWAH is a typo)
Most US utilities still bill customers in kW. However if the customer has a poor power factor, the kVA load can be substantially higher. This causes the utility to install larger equipment and incur higher losses in the process of delivering power to the customer.

Previous posts are fairly accurate in defining power factor. Taking it a step further, the power factor is affected by the types of devices, appliances, or machinery on the customer premises consuming the electrical power. For instance, a factory with a large number of electric motors and no special power factor correct equipment installed will have a low power factor. Lower power factor loads will cost the utilities more money to deliver the same amount of real (kWh) power because they will need to oversize their cables, switchgear, transformers, etc. to handle the higher current demand. But you can bet they will pass that extra cost on to the customers. Residential customers will typically have a power factor near 100%, so the utility will not be concerned about them. Factories, however, are more likely to be a concern to the utility companies. Note that utilities reserve the right to charge extra if a customer has a low power factor. For instance, from swepco.com: "Power Factor Adjustment: The Company reserves the right to determine the power factor of the Customer's installation served hereunder. Should the average lagging power factor during the month be determined to be below 90%, the Customer's Kilowatts of Maximum Demand will be adjusted by multiplying the Kilowatts of Maximum Demand by 90% and dividing by the average lagging power factor."

KWH (KiloWattHours), means units of active energy consumption(active) and these type of energy measurement is used for domestic loads.KVARH (KiloVoltAmperesReactiveHours), means units of reactive energy consumption, used in industries.KVAH (KiloVoltAmpereHours), means total energy consumption.KVAHandKWHare energy measurements over time.We are paying the electrical utility bill for theKWHamount.Calculate Your Electricity Bill in 1 min by Simple Calculation. It is very easy to calculate theelectricity bill and tariff for Electrical Engineering Students but, it makes confusion for non-technical people that concern about their electric charges from the electricity service providers.Below is a simple example and calculation about electricity bill. If you pick this, You will be able to calculate your electricity bill very easily. How To Calculate Your Electricity Bill Simple Calculation.Steps:Step 1: Calculate the Watts Per DayStep 2: Calculate usage Over a Month PeriodStep 3: Convert the KHW to UnitsStep 4: Figuring Out theCost Per Unitin the StateThen use the Below formula:Number or Units * Cost Per Unit = Cost or Electricity billExample:Suppose, a consumer consumes 1000 watts load per hour daily for one month. Calculate The Total Energy bill of the consumer ifper unit rate is 9 (In $, £, €, INR ,Rs, DHR, Riyal etc) [Take 1 month = 30 Days].Solution:Total watts per Day = 1000 Watts x 24 Hrs = 24000 watts/hour.So Total watts per month = 1000 Watts x 24 Hrs x 30 Days = 720000 watts/hour.We want to convert it into Units, [Where is 1 Unit = 1 KHW.]So Total Consumed units. 720000/1000 = 720 KHWTotal Units = 720.Cost of per unit is 9.So Total Cost or Electricity bill= 720 x 9 = 6480. (In $, £, €, INR ,Rs, DHR, Riyal etc).Isn’t it easy to calculate you electricity bill?
