In case of other changes, rather than the master data, it
basically depends on the process followed by the companies
and their mutual understanding between the business and the
client, that what should be the process of the data flow.
it can be direct also and it can be through quality also.

But in case of the master data transfer like vendor,
customer, G/L, assets, when we have to transfer the data in
bulk, then we make different tools like BDC, whiwhich we
first develop in the development system, then we move the
same to the quality system, check it, and then we move the
same to the production system.

But in case where the master data is single, then it is
advice able that we should directly create it in the
production client and it is usually done by the business
users. we do not transport it.

We do not transfer the master data from development server
to PRODCUTION server.

It is best practice to create new master data in each
client especially PRODUCTION client.

hi all....

only those things can be transported which generates transport reuest aster saving. when creating master data no request will be generated. so how can you transfer master data????? if you want master data to be transported then we need to write abap program which will extract all the details into single file and same will be uploaded in production server via abap program. but best practices dont support this . its better to create master data in production server either manually or via lsmw or bdc

YES we can transfer the data from development to production.

yes we can do transfer the master data from development
server to production server.

We cannot transfer the master data from development to any
other servers.Only Global configuration needs to tr to next
servers. All the manual configuration link updating master
data,maintaining number ranges,..etc needs to be done
manually in each server.
